Crime Prevention
Low Crime doesn't mean No Crime. As you age, you may find yourself increasingly at risk of being a victim of crime. Here is a site that gives you advice on how not to fall prey. Click here for crime prevention tips for senior citizens and view video clips on crime prevention.

You can join the Residents’ Committees’ (RCs) Chit Chat Sessions (free of charge) conducted by People's Assn, Police and NCPC. You will be shown related videos to inform of crime prevention advice and create awareness on crime prevention, listen to talks and share stories with each other and end with Q & A.

To know more about these sessions, you can check with Community Centres and RCs Senior Citizens Network who would have put out a schedule on date/place of the chit chats for senior citizens.

Fire Prevention
Learn about fire safety and how you can prevent fire at home. Fires can cause major disasters and loss of lives in buildings such as offices, hotels, shopping centres, hospitals, schools and homes. Such disasters can be avoided if proper fire safety practices are observed.

Renewing your driving licence at 65 years
A medical examination at any private clinics or government polyclinics is required for motorist age 65 years old and every 3 years thereafter eg 68, 71, 74,77, 80 etc.  For class 4A, class 4 and class 5 driving licence holders, the medical examination has to be done at government polyclinics yearly, and they are required to sit and pass a driving proficiency test before licence can be validated. Traveling overseas
Sometimes you need extra help to increase mobility while checking-in at the airport or cruise centre.

  • Changi Airport provides special services such as ramps, user-friendly lifts and special toilets to cater to the needs of the seniors
  • Singapore Cruise Centre provides convenient drop off points, ramps and lifts. To facilitate clearance through immigration and customs, senior citizens and their caregivers need only inform the ferry/cruise operator whom they have booked their tickets with. They will in turn make the necessary arrangements with the terminals.
